Join us on the plaza for the most heroic day of the year as we introduce you to the amazing men and women who use science to come to the rescue. Your family will hear sirens, see flashing lights and come face-to-face with everyday heroes from police officers to paramedics. Come dressed as your favorite hero.

Also on Hero Day, McWane Science Center will host a “Books For Soldiers” book drive for the 82nd Airborn Division that is currently serving in Afghanistan. Everyone who brings a book or magazine for the drive will be entered to win a vintage fire truck peddle car!
And, don’t miss your opportunity to participate in our PAPER AIRPLANE MAKING CONTEST — sponsored by Paper Airplane.
Stop by the plane-making station and craft your own flying-machine. If your plane can fly the farthest, you will get a special prize!

Hey Dad! Sunday is your special day and as a reward for all your tireless efforts, admission is on the house at McWane Science Center. Must show proof of being a dad. (So bring the kids!)
