Coastal Heritage Society introduced the idea of a Mobile Museum as a way to spark interest with local youth of various age levels about the importance of nature, science, and the history that surrounds them.
The Mobile Museum is equipped with compatible and functional tools inside and out to include a kitchen, a pull behind green house, along with various history exhibits that are periodically transformed.
The Coastal Heritage Society and Coca-Cola UNITED know that by engaging youth with the power to learn, we are helping to raise future productive and educated citizens that will become leaders in society. Savannah Coca-Cola UNITED believes in this cause and donated the GMC 2500 van and the funds to wrap the assets in attractive graphics.
Since its completion, the Mobile Museum has served many area local youth events. Most recent events include: A Healthy Me event at Live Oak Public Library, Indigo Dying field trip at Brock Elementary a Title 1 School, 2018 Earth Day Festival at Forsyth Park, Salvation Army Community Center Outreach Program, Yamacraw Village Outreach Program working with at-risk youth in an innovative summer program.
