Veterans Day Spotlight: Courtney Brown
Marietta’s own Courtney Brown was honored at a special invitation only luncheon event on November 11 at the Coca-Cola HQ in Atlanta with CCNA President, Jim Dinkins. What a wonderful honor to have so many men and women who are true examples of courage, commitment and service to our country on OUR team. They, along with all other United States veterans, deserve our gratitude and honor every day, not only this Veterans Day for the tremendous sacrifices they made for our freedom.
Staff Sergeant (SSG) Courtney Brown enlisted in the United States Army in 2006 and underwent basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia. During training, he distinguished himself and was presented with the Honor Graduate Award in his company. He was then assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). While deployed, SSG Brown earned a promotion from Private First Class to Specialist.
SSG Brown was then deployed to the Iraq Syrian border in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), to assist with the transition from United States-led operations to Iraqi-led operations. Their mission was to prepare the Iraqi security force to fight and protect its people. He was then transferred to Kaiserslautern, Germany and deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan to assist with logistics training for Afghan National Security Forces.
Courtney Brown completed his service obligations in 2014 and went on to graduate from the American Military University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing. He joined UNITED in 2016 and contributes by leading his team to produce the highest quality products while being safe and efficient.
Thank you for your service, Courtney!
