Kel Villarrubia received his B.A. in political science from Louisiana State University, a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of New Orleans, and is a graduate of Loyola University’s Institute of Politics.
For the twenty-three years he served as vice-president of government relations and public affairs for Coca-Cola Enterprises. his responsibilities included: corporate affairs, governmental relations, media relations, consumer affairs and community relations for company-owned bottling franchises in the states of: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Prior to joining Coca-Cola Enterprises in 1987, Kel served as executive assistant for governmental affairs at the Port of New Orleans.
After the sale of Coca-Cola enterprises to Coca-Cola Refreshments, Inc. in 2010, he continued in a similar role serving as Senior Director of Public Affairs and Communications until he joined Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED as Vice-President of Government Relations in 2015.
Kel currently serves on the board of directors of the Louisiana Beverage Associations and the Louisiana Retailers Association. Previously, he served on the boards of St. Dominic School, Manresa retreat house, where he continues to serve as a lead captain, in addition to supporting other civic and non-profit organizations.
He resides in New Orleans, Louisiana with his wife Teresa, daughters Eliane(22), Annie (20) and son Kel Michael (17). his hobbies include: snow skiing, sea kayaking, trail running, and open water swim.
