Alabama state senator Arthur Orr appeared in Madison County recently for one of many events to celebrate Alabama’s 200th birthday. The principle purpose of this celebratory event was to unveil the United States Postal Service’s commemorative Forever stamp for the state of Alabama.
A Forever stamp is a special piece of postage whose rates remain the same from the day they become available. The Alabama Forever stamp was based off a photograph captured by the state’s own Joe Miller and features a breathtaking view of the Talladega National Forest from Cheaha State Park.
