John Sherman awarded BBJ’s 2018 Top CEO award!

 

It’s with great joy we announce that our President & CEO, John Sherman, has been awarded the Birmingham Business Journal’s “2018 Top CEO” award Thursday, December 6th, 2018 for the “more that 250 + employee” category.

Nominations submitted included evidences of meeting the criteria established to become a finalist for the “2018 Top CEO” award, which was strong financial performance, tangible results and goals achieved, a key role in the success of the business and community involvement.

Honorees weren’t required to have the exact title of “CEO,” but must be the top executive for their business or organization. As we know, the City of Birmingham is privileged to have many strong leaders and CEO’s dedicated not only to the growth and success of the business they serve, but also for the present and future vitality of the community.

Among the many attendees waiting to recognize BBJ’s selected recipient with applause were several of John’s friends, family and UNITED colleagues.

Among the finalists in the “more than 250 employees” were Jason AlexanderSt. Vincent’s Health System, Bruce Irwin, American Family Care, and Mark Tarr, Encompass Health Corp. (Formerly known as HealthSouth).

It’s quite an honor for our CEO to be considered among the leaders of Birmingham who have exhibited their passion and commitment by supporting and inspiring many efforts to progress the Greater Birmingham businesses and communities.
