Meet Helen Smith Price, Coca-Cola UNITED’s newest board member

Vice President of Global Community Affairs for The Coca-Cola Company, and President of The Coca-Cola Foundation.
Birmingham, Ala. (July 24, 2018) – The Board of Directors of Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, Inc., has elected Helen Smith Price to its Board of Directors, it was announced today. Price is Vice President of Global Community Affairs for The Coca-Cola Company, and President of The Coca-Cola Foundation.
“Helen is an exceptional addition to the Coca-Cola UNITED board, bringing important knowledge of Atlanta — which is one of our newest, and now our largest, markets — as well as decades of experience within the Coca-Cola system,” said Claude Nielsen, chairman of the Coca-Cola UNITED board of directors. “Helen is respected and admired globally for her philanthropic leadership, and we will benefit from having her expertise and acumen on our board of directors.”
A 24-year veteran of The Coca-Cola Company, Helen has served as executive director of The Coca-Cola Foundation since 2001. In that role, she leads the global strategy, governance and regulatory compliance for domestic and international philanthropy. The Foundation gave back $99 million in 2017 to enhance the environment, empower women and enrich the well-being of people and communities.
Prior to joining Coca-Cola, Price held roles in audit, tax, accounting research and financial management at BellSouth Corporation. She began her professional career as an auditor and tax accountant with Arthur Anderson & Co. Price was licensed as a certified public accountant in the state of Georgia, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Spelman College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Clark Atlanta University.
Price currently serves on the Spelman College Board of Trustees, the board of Councilors of The Carter Center, and a number of community boards, including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, the Woodruff Arts Center’s Alliance Theatre, The Westside Future Fund, and the Corporate Contributions Council of The Conference Board. She is also a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, Azalea City Chapter of the Links Incorporated, and the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Price is a native of Atlanta, where she resides with her husband, Albenny Price. They have an adult son, Alexander Prince.
