Commemorating Selma to Montgomery March 1965

Selma to Montgomery March

March, 2015 marked the 50th Anniversary of 3 marches where brave men and women collectively, courageously, and literally took the steps to end discriminatory requirements and practices debilitating African Americans from exercising their constitutional right to vote.  These brave men and women changed the future of America forever.

Montgomery Coca-Cola partnered with government, businesses and leaders to celebrate the courage and honor the sacrifice of these brave men and women.   In celebration, businesses proudly displayed customized signage in stores where Coca-Cola products could be found, youth could be seen with commemorative t-shirts and backpacks, and commemorative bottles.

Montgomery Coca-Cola, a division of Coca-Cola UNITED, is proud of our long tradition of community support and where we live, work and serve.   It was an honor to sponsor the many events recognizing the leaders who made a positive impact and change for future generations to exercise the right for freedom, liberty and equality.

In June, 2015, commemorative bottles featuring the Montgomery and Selma logo and dates will be produced and sold to the public commemorating the 60 Anniversary of the “Montgomery Bus Boycott.”  Proceeds contribute toward scholarship(s) at the Alabama State University.  Watch for more information to come!
