48th Annual National Shrimp Festival

Gulf Shore High School PTSO

This year’s Shrimp Festival was another successful event, due in part to the non-stop efforts of Thomas Parks and our Special Events Team.  The Shrimp Festival is an amazing volunteer-driven four-day annual event, taking place in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

This year, our team consisted of Thomas Parks, Yolmar McGrew, Jose Mendoza, Tim Curry, Rusty Ryan, Keith Gunter, Steve McMillian, Ricardo Noriega, Jamie Chapman, Corey Baggett and Michael Powell, lead by Reggie Turner, On Premise BDM.  These guys make sure that all 20 – 25 of our school booths and food booths are stocked with Coca-Cola products, keeping consumers happy throughout the festival.  They also keep the Gulf Coast Chamber stocked with drinks for Chamber staff and volunteers.

Over 250,000 thirsty people were expected to attend this year’s festival.  Highlights included over 80 hours of musical entertainment, ranging from Blues and Motown, to Rock, Jazz, Zydeco and Country, over two stages, twelve hours per day, all four days.  There was also shrimp, just about any way you could want it, along with other seafood and non-seafood favorites as well.  There was even a wide and varied selection of paintings, sculpture, jewelry and craft work.

We would like to congratulate the Loxley family, who won an awesome 4 day/3 night vacation from Gulf Shores Rentals.

Loxley Winners

For most, this festival represents a carefree weekend of food and fun in the sun, but for our team, it’s a lot of work…and yet they make it seem easy!  Thank you everyone for the hard work you put into the event to make it another great year!
