On September 28, 2019, Coca-Cola United College Park’s second shift team members from Lines 3 and 4 volunteered at Open Hand Atlanta with the goal of packing and delivering healthy meals to the Metro-Atlanta community. Together, the teams packed over 310 meals and delivered 19 orders to the Open Hand community.

Open Hand prepares, packs and delivers over 5,000 healthy meals each day throughout the metro Atlanta area for those who might otherwise go without.

The College Park team learned during their participation that Open Hand Atlanta is passionate about providing nutritious meals to the elderly community while reducing associated chronic disease healthcare costs for individuals in need.  The adventures these wonderful people have to share are remarkable, including tales of life-changing experiences and even celebrities!  Check out the Open Hand website to learn more.

Gregory Favors, a College Park Production Supervisor, stated, “I believe the simple act of caring is heroic. Caring about others and leaving an impact on people brings happiness. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well!”
